3D Tractor Parts Depot is a young design community for discovering, making, and sharing models, mostly in 3D, of things for tractors and implements. There has been an ongoing movement by younger people who may want to relive their childhood thru "their" tractor. Many of these machines were so well constructed that they can still be used as a working tractor today, 40, 50 60 or more years later. While there are a number of places to purchase complex, durable and/or high demand parts, sometimes a part is needed that can't be found easily from the NOS, used or salvage market.
3D Tractor Parts Depot seeks to build a community of people that want to share their designs for parts and tools to keep these old tractors, including garden tractors, and their implements part of the working. We believe that everyone should be encouraged to create 2D and 3D things, no matter their technical expertise or previous experience. In the spirit of maintaining an open platform, all designs are encouraged to be licensed under a Creative Commons license, meaning that anyone can use or alter any design. While 3D printing is a young and growing market with low cost machines for the home user, some designs are better lent to 2D cutting, perhaps on a laser cutter or plasma cutter for more durable materials.
